Description: Trilobites of the genus Conocoryphe lacked eyes, unlike other genera of trilobites from later periods such as the Devonian. This makes them of great interest in understanding the evolution of trilobite vision, from having no eyes to having highly developed and complex ocular structures. This particular specimen underwent a pyritization process, which gives trilobites their intense yellow tones.
